Divisional playoff lines should catch eyes of underdog bettors

Three of the four NFL divisional playoff games feature point spreads hovering around a touchdown. The Seahawks are the round's biggest favorite, opening as double-digit chalk over the Panthers.

These are numbers that are sure to catch the attention of underdog bettors.

The NFC semi-final bracket was finalized when the Cowboys completed their comeback win over the Lions on Sunday, 24-20 as 6-point home favorites. Dallas visits the Packers next Sunday (1:05 p.m. ET, Fox), and the betting line is the shortest of next weekend's four games. The Westgate Las Vegas SuperBook and William Hill U.S. both opened Green Bay -6 , which is the prevailing line as of 1 p.m. ET on Monday.

The Cowboys-Packers total opened between 52.5 and 53.

Earlier on wild-card Sunday, minutes after the Colts (-4) handled the Bengals 26-10 to set up a date next Saturday with the Broncos (4:40 p.m. ET, CBS), William Hill opened Denver -7.5. The hook interested Indy backers, and the book adjusted the line to -7. Most bet shops opened the game right on the key number '7'.

Books were dealing anywhere from 53 to 54 for the total.

The divisional round's Saturday primetime contest has the largest spread of them all, with Seattle opening between -10.5 and -11.5 over visiting Carolina (8:15 p.m. ET, Fox) and settling at -11 for now at most Vegas bet shops. The total, as you may have guessed, is by far the lowest, sitting at 40 across town on Monday.

In next Saturday's early kickoff, Ravens at Patriots (4:35 p.m. ET, NBC), most of the 7.5s disappeared since opening numbers were posted following Baltimore's wild-card win in Pittsburgh. New England -7 was the prevailing number on Sunday night, while the total moved to as low as 48 after opening 49.
