LeBron, Cavs lay double digits against Heat

@TheLinemakers

LAS VEGAS -- Without Dwyane Wade, Wednesday night's matchup between the Heat and Cavaliers loses a little luster. Still, LeBron James and his Cavs will have revenge on their minds after losing by 10 to his former team on Christmas Day.

A busy 12-game NBA schedule is on tap with this battle taking the forefront on Wednesday (8 p.m. ET, ESPN).

Line: Cavaliers -12, Total: 193.5

This season, both LeBron's former and current team combine to be 66-37-1 to the UNDER. Miami (22-29 SU, 23-26-2 ATS) is one of the slowest teams in the NBA in terms of pace of play, with 75 field-goal attempts per game, and are second in the league in points allowed.

Of course, the Cavs offense has been stellar over this recent stretch, winning 13 out of 14 games. In 11 of those contests, Cleveland (32-21 SU, 24-29 ATS) scored over 100 points. This is clearly a different team than the one that the Heat took care of in December.

Not only did Miami move the ball around better than Cleveland that day, but a huge factor in that meeting was James shooting barely over 50-percent from the free-throw line. Those nerves will likely be subdued as he will be at home this time around. Wade also hoisted 28 shots in that matchup. and now Bosh, who was out, will likely take that load.

Against the top-10 teams in the Don Best/Linemakers Power Ratings, the Heat have not faired well. Miami is 3-13 straight up and ATS against those opponents this season. One of those wins, however, was against the Cavaliers. Cleveland is 11-3 against the spread over this recent winning span.

This will be Miami's last game before the All-Star break, while the Cavs will head out to Chicago to take on the Bulls as the lone NBA game on Thursday night.

Pick disclaimer: In a video shot earlier this week, we recommended OKC in tonight's game vs. Memphis, but we anticipated the line to be lower than it is. Thunder -6 is not a play for us tonight, and we'll lay off the game.
