International soccer takes center stage

@TheLinemakers

Two major international soccer tournaments are in their semifinals, with a pair of matches on tap for your betting pleasure tonight.

First, the USA finds itself in an unfamiliar position as underdogs in the Women's World Cup semis vs. Germany (7 p.m. ET, Fox).

The Westgate Las Vegas SuperBook has the Americans priced at +185 odds on the three-way money-line, Germany at +160 and the draw +220.

The two-way spread bet is a pick 'em, with Germany juiced to -120.

The results of those bets are official after regulation. The 'to advance' line has Germany -120, USA +100.

The total is 2 goals (OVER -130, UNDER +110).

The U.S. being priced as the dog isn't surprising. Germany is No. 1 in FIFA's world rankings, and the side overtook the U.S. as tournament favorites ahead of the Round of 16.

In men's action in South America, Argentina and Paraguay battle (7:30 p.m. ET, beIN Sports) for a spot in the Copa America final, where host Chile awaits after dispatching Peru last night.

Writes Al Hain-Cole from our partner site Goal.com, "Having won just one of the last seven meetings between the sides, Paraguay is a +850 longshot at the Westgate Las Vegas SuperBook to reach its second consecutive final by coming out on top in Concepcion. Argentina required penalties to overcome Colombia in the previous round but is a -250 favorite to win in normal time here.

"The sides actually shared a 2-2 draw when they met in the group stages, and you can get odds of +330 on them cancelling each other out once again."

Since that first meeting, "neither team has provided such entertainment since. In fact, with just five goals between them in their three subsequent fixtures in Chile, it would be fair to suggest that such an end-to-end opening clash only served to temper both sides' attacking instincts."

Goal.com's pick: Hain-Cole concludes, "Considering their defensive excellence, a parlay of a star-studded Argentina edging it past a determined Paraguay in a match featuring UNDER 2.5 goals is a worth backing."

The Argentina/UNDER parlay pays off at +161 odds.
