John, here's your NBA D-League newsletter. | View Email Online Raptors Acquire Affiliate The Toronto Raptors have acquired the right to own and operate an NBA D-League team, which will give the league a record total of 19 teams next season. The team, Raptors 905, will play its home games in Mississauga, a suburb of Toronto.    Ujiri on Raptors 905 "We plan to make it the best D-League team in the NBA," Raptors GM Masai Ujiri told NBADLeague.com in a Q&A that covered how Raptors 905 came to be and how Toronto plans on utilizing its affiliate.    Year of the Warrior Golden State's NBA title came with a piece of history: The Warriors became the first franchise ever to win championships in the NBA and NBA D-League in the same season. The ties between Golden State and Santa Cruz run even deeper.    Vegas Bound The Samsung NBA Summer League will feature 67 games over an 11-day slate in Las Vegas from July 10-20. The NBA D-League Select Team, a collection of top prospects from the 2014-15 season, is scheduled to play five games against NBA competition.    220 Players, One Dream The NBA D-League held its annual National Tryout in New York City on June 15.
