Tiger a longshot among Wyndham mediocrity

@TheLinemakers

Tiger Woods, despite facing a much weaker field than he typically plays against, is still not getting much respect from the betting market ahead of the Wyndham Championship. While Las Vegas oddsmakers price him at 50-to-1 odds to win the tournament, he was offered in the 40-to-1 to 60-to-1 range at this past weekend's PGA Championship, where he failed to make the cut.

Woods has never before played in the Wyndham, but the tournament at Sedgefield Country Club in Greensboro, N.C. is the last before the FedEx Cup Playoffs and he likely needs to finish no worse than second to qualify. The top 125 players in the FedEx Cup standings get to play next week in the Barclays, the first of the four-tournament playoff, and Tiger currently sits 189th. His best finish this season was 17th at the Masters.

Tiger is not featured in any matchup props posted at the Westgate Las Vegas SuperBook.

The field, at 7-to-4 odds, being the shortest-priced betting entry is indicative of the weakness of the Wyndham field. But while the tournament is not loaded with superstars, there are a number of formidable players set to compete. Hideki Matsuyama, Brooks Koepka, Brandt Snedeker, at 15-to-1, are at the top of the oddsboard at the Westgate, while Adam Scott and Justin Thomas are 20-to-1.

Here's a look odds to win this weekend's Wyndham Championship.
